Who We Are
Stephanie Gray and Jenny Hahn founded Creative Nectar Studio to offer a safe haven for those seeking a deeper connection to their true self via the creative process
Our Mission
To offer a safe haven for creative self-discovery for those seeking a deeper connection to their true self.
We go about this by providing a nourishing and supportive presence both online and in person, through our podcast, classes and workshops, books, online community, and one-on-one support.
Through these offerings, we envision an awakened world where each person is empowered to create and express their authentic truth.
THE BEGINNING
Creative Nectar Studio was formed by artists Jenny Hahn and Stephanie Gray as a safe haven for creative self-discovery. We met in 1999 while both attending workshops with teacher and mentor Sarah Oblinger of Paint or Die Studio in Lawrence, KS (now Studio Exanimo in Dixon, NM). In these workshops we learned how to use process art as a tool for self-discovery. Jenny was at that time a recent art school graduate who received outward accolades but inwardly was suffering from an eating disorder, and Steph came to the process without formal art training but in the midst of overwhelming life challenges and transitions. We each became hooked to process arts in our own way.
LIVING JUICY
After years of doing our own personal process work and seeing the transformative results in our own lives, we joined forces in 2011 to form Creative Nectar Studio and open doors to the public with a storefront space in Mission, Kansas. And rightly so; it was our "mission" to offer a safe haven for creative self-discovery for those seeking a deeper connection to their true self.
We went about this by providing a schedule of weekly classes as well as a rich online presence, writing about our own experiences and sharing tools we discovered as we traveled through our own journeys. We hosted guest facilitators and bloggers who each brought their own unique flavor to the world of process work. Over time we expanded our reach by offering on-site process art workshops at various locations across the US, as well as in-person and virtual one-on-one experiences with folks from around the world. Through these offerings, we envisioned an awakened world where each person is empowered to create and express their authentic truth. Hundreds of women and men came through the doors of Nectar to experience the freedom of creating with deep self-awareness without concern for the end result.
TRUSTING THE PROCESS
Since that time we’ve closed the doors to that physical space in Mission KS, but the journey continues forward with new offerings. We are proud to offer a biweekly Creative Nectar podcast, the new Soul Nectar online community, published books and other resources for connection, inspiration and support. Keeping our work accessible to all regardless of location or socio-economic status is important to us both. We hope that no matter your life situation, you find creative inspiration here that speaks to your heart and invites you into trusting your own process.
